Minggl Social Networking Toolbar Rocks!
Several weeks ago, I tweeted a lamentation that I did not have ONE uniform tool for updating facebook, myspace and twitter. Guess what?! Now I do! Minggl is a toolbar for both Firefox and IE that allows you to manage contacts, events and communications from myspace, twitter and facebook all from within the same interface in the browser.
Robert Scoble posted a video of an interview with the Minggl guys here. They explain some of the current feature set as well as the direction they are taking the app in the future (YouTube, Flikr etc).
Minggl has some cool features!
- Minggl Stream - your twitter stream lives in the sidebar along with your friends' statuses on facebook and myspace. Each entry is denoted with a little icon over the avatar indicating which
- Friends Management - your complete friends list from all services is also available in the sidebar. Minggl lets you edit tags for these friends that enable you to do some interesting targeted messages and posts! You can also add and remove friends from the Minggl sidebar.
- Account Access - the toolbar has your login information all set up for you to easily and quickly connect to any of your profiles from the toolbar.
- Status Blaster - this feature allows you to update all status via one interface. I think this is pretty cool, but I prefer using Twitter as a "master status" engine, because I can tweet when I'm away from the pc. I'm going to play with this one a while and see if I grow to prefer it.
I have a crush - on Minggl. So far it's pretty darn cool, but the coming features make it seem even cooler!
